I was in the market for one before I bought the S. When I was looking the prices were absolutely insane, but it seems to be a little more realistic now.

There are three places to find one - Autotrader, the Supra forums, and eBay. I was watching auctions too, but there were only 3 types of Supras that made it to auctions:

NA, seriously problematic ones, and seriously modified ones that were going for $80,000+ at Manheim's exotic car sales.

There is a dealer in New Jersey that specializes in nice rare Japanese imports - I think it is called Speed for Sale. I'm on their mailing list, so when the next one comes in I'll try to remember to pass the URL to you.

And they're in Atlanta - not New Jersey - I haven't looked at that site in almost 2 years.

Being on the mailing list is pretty cool because they just send you the latest and greatest cars they have for sale. Sometimes I get a little drool on my keyboard

I too was looking at them before the S. Maybe Alex is talking about heavily modified going for 80s, but I always seem to remember them going for high 30s or less.

Generally the ones I have seen more recently are in the $20-$30k price range for the MKIV. But i havent seen one for sale in quite some time.

Evan,

Nah - stock ones with less than 80,000 miles (regardless of year) were going for $40,000+

Over 100,000 miles and BTFU were in the high 20's to 30's. It was crazy

Kinda like the real estate market right now - throw the book out the window

Granted I didn't read these (so I don't know the condition), but these seem even a drop on the low side from what I've seen. I remember being really interested in one for $36k before I bought my S. Targa top, 94 maybe? I'd have to go back to look at my notes...

But for your viewing pleasure...

Alex, Tep: Thanks for the input. I have been Googling and Ebay'ing for the past couple weeks or so, and I am already on the speedforsale mailing list. I also found some pretty nice ones for sale here:

http://www.supratraderonline.com/

And over at the Supra Forums:

http://supraforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=27

I'm looking for one as close to stock as possible, because I want to do the modding myself.
