Gee, I don't know. You won't listen to anyone, so why do you bother asking questions in here? Before you buy something you plan on returning, why don't you pose your question to the seller of said item first?

For the record, I have the Axxial short shifter. Not only does it vibrate somewhat, it's noisy because of the lack of a rubber gasket. Get over it. Additionally, the only time your hand should be on the shifter is to shift, so a little vibration ain't ish.
1.) "You won't listen to anyone, so why do you bother asking questions in here?"

I already know what I want to try out, that's why this is a thread requesting a sale or trade. Small questions might have popped up, but I still know what I want to do.

2.) "Before you buy something you plan on returning, why don't you pose your question to the seller of said item first?"

When I said "sell it back," I IN NO WAY meant return to the seller. I know I wouldn't want that if I sold brand new items. I meant SELL it back. As in sell it to another s2ki member who wants one for a little lower than he or she would have paid for it brand new.

3.) "For the record, I have the Axxial short shifter. Not only does it vibrate somewhat, it's noisy because of the lack of a rubber gasket. Get over it."

I know that it vibrates as well as makes noise and I understand why it does that. I did go through the installation just like you did.

4.) "Additionally, the only time your hand should be on the shifter is to shift, so a little vibration ain't ish."

The only time my hand is on the shifter IS when I am shifting. But when my hand is not on it, it makes an annoying noise. This noise is actually WORSE when your hand is not on the shifter. In my previous posts, I equated vibration with noise. Maybe I shouldn't have done that for clarity's sake, but vibration = noise, always, even if the noise is barely noticeable.

Also Skip, I understand that your S2000 is a track car and is not daily driven (please correct me if I am wrong). Mine is a DD. So of course, our opinions of what needs to be fixed and what doesn't are bound to differ.

I also sincerely hope I didn't offend you in any way while defending myself.

I guess I really didn't do all the pre-drives for Fall Colors in my S2000. It must have been in another Moonrock convertible. Consider yourself corrected.

And if you know what is causing the vibration/noise, then why in Hades do you think changing the shift knob will make an acceptable difference? Fix the problem, not the symptom.

No, you don't offend me. If you were someone that contributed to the betterment of the community as a whole, I might respond with a different tone.
1.) i was differentiating mainly between DDing and not DDing the car.

2.) i've said more than once that i like the shifter enough to not get rid of it because it causes vibration--i just want to help it as much as i can (and i know that changing the knob will make an acceptable difference because i tried it).

3.) wow, way to just get on someone's case when they weren't complaining about it, just asking to buy a damn knob...and then you cut them down when they try to respect you as an elder s2ki member and elder human being? you've been unduly condescending towards me on more than one occasion. i really don't understand what the problem is.
