Have gears installed? I just want to ride in an S with them installed before I decide to get them or not. I posted in the S2000 talk forum about finding the 4.77 KIA gear set for only 243.00. I thought this was a decent price. Ricks install kit is another 150.00. Then there is the install cost. What do you guys think about doing this?

 

I would be afraid it would screw up the tranny, clutch plate, etc! Do changing the gears make much of a difference? If it is your daily driver u will lose some MPG if that matters. I would use the money for something more reliable i.e., put in a good cold air intake, wheels, ice, etc.

 

I have read a lot of posts of people installing the gears. They all say next to F/I this is the best bang for the buck. I have the I/H/E already. I was thinking VAFC or the gears. I just wanted to get your guys feedback.
