Go out and sign up @ kcir to drag race. One night a week it is open to everyone. Most cars are stock so you will get to race different cars in a legal & safe venue. The price is real reasonable. I have done it a couple of times and really enjoyed it although it is a little rough on the car. I was surprised how well I did against others. You will get to race several times and will learn a lot about your car and your limits.

Another option is to go to Heartland Park Topeka. They open it up once a month for street cars. I have also done this 3 times and wow what a rush.

1 last option is to consider autocross. Safe and fun.

Well, once again I'm baffled!

Driving about with my wife and a chrysler seabring convertible was for at least 1 mile doing nothing as far as racing goes. All of a sudden he steps on it and runs off. We pull up to him at a light and I say, "hey! wanna line em' up?" He says, "sure!" Takes the turn onto the main road and just takes off.

My wife said it first but I was just shaking my head... WTF!

I'll be attaching a drag bar light to the roll bar of my car... Maybe then I'll actually get these clowns to do something.

On a nice note... I pulled over two other S2000's that same night and told them about our May meet! Hopefully we will get 2 more S2K owners joining us. Both AP1's yellow and red.

Okay, so you haven't really raced before but you want to start ... on the street no less. My suggestion is to keep racing close to the hospital, just in case.

Someone already mentioned line up at a light -- reving is definitely the norm. If you are already moving, just come up next to someone, tap the accelerator then drop back next to them and when he nods or acknowledges honk your horn slowly three times, on the third honk you go. If you win, put your hazards on for a few blinks.

You do realize it's highly addictive and extremely dangerous right? good luck out there.

Personally, after just getting mine last thursday, all i have is the honda nerds here in Topeka, which they all drive straight crap civics, tegs, some hatch's, crap like that. They ALL want to race me. I don't though, knowing i could stomp them and plus it's effing crowded out where they race and i've already seen plenty wrecks on that very road (Wanamaker)

But i still don't see how you have trouble finding people that want to race or whatever, i've even had a ricer flyby by an Evo X. Plus on the way back had looks from a newer Z06. Also had a non ricer? flyby by a turbo (big ass turbo) older Z06 (black if you guys have seen it around topeka) tonight just coming back from class.

And i've only had the car for like 6 days o.O

I can't believe that is still going on down Wanamaker. I used to do everything I could to avoid that street in my S2000...every d-bag in his FWD POS wants to prove their car is better.
