Don't forget that the bottom of the equities market is during the gloomiest of times. The unfortunate part is things can always get worse.

It's going to bounce between 800 and 1000 for at least a year. It will get close to 1K but not hold it.

Your assumption is this is the gloomiest of times. That's something of a hind sight epiphany since it's obvious to see when you look back, impossible to see if you look forward. The shit may not have hit the fan yet.

Don't become obsessed with finding the bottom, let the bottom find you. When stocks start going up and earnings start beating expectations and the housing market firms up then you'll know the bottom is in. Until then it's just a crap shoot.

I can see it still going lower. With a number of mainstay companies/stores taking a big hit and a large number of companies having to cut cost and jobs, as well as the general depression that sets this time of year, this winter is going to be a beater. I see the possibility of an upturn starting in the spring when people naturally begin to feel better and possibly the housing market starting to solidify.

The overall market has those bankruptcies priced in at the 800 level though individual stocks may not.

I'd rather predict the Dow. So I will. From doing extensive reading and research, understanding particular world events, etc....I see the Dow anywhere from 5000-6000 by May 09, if not lower.

On a side....does anyone know of a nice country friendly to white people and mainly speaks English? I think a lot of Americans will be looking to move.

^ Australia. Too bad they still have internet there, otherwise I'd recommend that you move immediately.

I recall hearing of one on the other side of the pond, but the name escapes me.

I think earnings will come in at $60 for the S&P. Therefore, in the short term it will fall to 780-800.

In the long term, if credit doesn't free up, we will be going much lower.
