You pick it game
Here's a game for those who like to play the market. Post your five stock dream portfolio - five stocks you think will earn the best returns in 07 - and I'll add it to the list. Periodically I'll update the list to show how each portfolio performed - it's total value including dividends.
Your portfolio will consist of up to 5 investments. I will create a portfolio with each investment dollar weighted to be equal in size at the close of the market the day I add it to the list. The goal is to obtain the highest rate of return by market close January 23, 2008.
There is no limit to the cost of each share, anything goes. You can pick funds, ETFs, stocks, whatever you can go out and buy which can be valued (not property for example since I can't value it). If you can buy it and I can look up it's value with Yahoo or Google it's fair game. I'll start...
Rules:
1) You can pick any investment which you can hold for one year which can be valued daily on Yahoo or Google, stock, bonds, ETFs, funds, indexes, LEAPs
2) Post the 5 ticker symbols and I will add them to the list with the current aggregate price at the time I add it to the register.
3) You cannot change the picks after they are posted to the list.
4) Your picks can be of any value above $0.01
5) You can choose any number of investments between 1 and 5 but no more than 5 (too much work to look up and price).
6) Your stocks must trade in the USA and be valued in USD

I added Jim Cramers top stocks for 2007 as a benchmark. To get 5 I had to take the top 2 value and growth stocks and the top speculative play.
Just for fun I added the last 5 stock ticker spams I got in as well. What's sad is that one of them has trippled since I first received it from $0.16 to $0.43.

Assume you are measuring performance over the year by % increase?
If it was $ increase, then I'd go with Berkshire Hathaway
