Default Inland Revenue

Having been trying to work out why I was paying more tax than I should have been last month I have noticed finally that the b@stards have got my tax code wrong

My question is what do you have to do to sort it.......

Do you just ring the tax office and tell them or is it more complicated??

Yes it should be a simple phone call.
And then a VERY BIG form to fill in.

Depends who you work for. I phoned the tax office, they said get your company to tell us the car's value and we'll ammend it.

Easy. All I had to do was get the company to fax the tax office

Phone up, explain the facts, take a note of the muppet's name.

Confirmation in writing is good.

You have to allow them 28 days to 1, take no action or 2, it up.

Repeat procedure until you give up, or go mad.

I'm an accountant, so forgive my cynicism. I've gone mad.

Or you could just let things be and then ask for a form to reclaim overpaid tax at the end of each year. That form is quite easy to fill in! And the repayment comes along quite swiftly and is just like a savings account - 'cept no interest!!

phoned tax office

underpaid tax last year
undeclared benefits last year

they are going to get back what I owe through my tax code

Still at least I can be sure that the tax I pay will be going to a good cause..........NOT

Just thought that I'd open up:

I hate HM tax office, HM customs & excise.

Now I know that I'm in a very small minority with this statement, so flame suit zipped up
