Seems a pretty standard response from Coca-Cola. They're the brand and anything good is Coca-Cola and anything bad is a bottling company working under franchise (despite Coca-Cola being significant share holders in or licensing their product to said bottling company).
Examples:
- Violence against union members to force workers out of the unions so the company can cut wages
- Using child labour in El-Salvador
- Putting water intensive manufacturing processes into droubt affected areas
