Buying S out of state
Just wondering has anyone went out of state to buy their S?
I'm interested in one in Cali but the DMV website gives no info on buying out of state from a private sale from what I could see...dealership and all that stuff yeah but nothing for private.
If I buy out of state will I have to pay taxes on the vehicle for that state or since it's getting registered here in Vegas, will I be free of paying the taxes like private to private sales within Vegas?
Also, how do I go about driving the car back? do I need to get some kind of temp plate from DMV or just drive it back with proof of insurance and I should be ok?
appreciate the help

Just in case anyone else is curious/to help the next guy that might want to know this

Good morning,
Nevada does not charge sales tax on private party purchases regardless of which state the vehicle is purchased in. You will need to contact the California DMV to request a permit (if needed) since the Nevada DMV cannot issue the permit because the vehicle is not located in this state. Most times in California the seller will leave the plates on the car so you can drive the car back to Nevada. In California the plates stay with the car and not the owner however you will need a movement permit from California if the seller does not have a current registration
