Default Comptech or J's Racing intake?

Anybody in Vegas running either of these?

Good or bad impressions?

Those with CAI do you notice a difference in the summer (engine bay heat has to be very high compared to outside temp.)?

Thanks for any input, I am hoping to get intake, exhaust, header and springs done in the next month or two?

I know no one is running the J's intake in Vegas If fact very few have that intake in the U.S. It retails for around 900-1000. Im not sure about the Comptech.

Most of us are running the AEM cai or Injen. I cant really comment about the summer affecting it cause we rarely drive the car. But when we have the car does bog more cause of the heat but that isnt caused from the cai intake.

Which header and exhaust are you thinking of running?

Not sure about header????

I am leaning towards an Amuse Ti single, maybe the duel (only because the car looks so damn good with duel pipes and the 04 does not have a cover out for the hole left by installing a single).

I know the J's is expensive, but I am going to do this car right. I have gone the cheap route on other cars because I was in school or looking for a job. Now I am a little older and the family is doing well so it is time for daddy to play with his toy finally (this is my first new car since graduating college in'95).

I don't think anyone is running the J's because no one knows anything about a poserific JDM intake

Comptech is a good unit as are the AEM and Injen ones. AEM and Injen show the most gain on a dyno but of course you run the risk of sucking up a little water when you drive through flash floods.

J's? Overrated garbage IMHO. They're the guys that brought you the $1,000 Mazda gears that you can buy for $300.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'll tell you that I'm a Comptech dealer. I'd rather see you buy anything other than JDM ra ra bs parts. BTW this doesn't go for the Amuse exhaust....that's a nice piece of work.

for the air induction, i'd go with Comptech. (just personal preference and i like having peace of mind.)

for the header, i'd go with Comptech again or Mugen if you have the cash. i've seen such hit or miss results with the Toda and their lack of customer service has left a bad taste in my mouth.

exhaust..hmm if i had all the money i'd get an Amuse Ti single. but since i'm still on a budget i have some other ideas in mind

once you get those, i'd look into getting a VAFC and get it tuned by UL in L.A.
(yes i am extremely biased on this since i have it on my car) but it gave me a lot more useable power.

good luck!

Personally I would look at every intake out there and compare them all.

The Toda header does make the most power out of all other headers. I would go with the Toda cause of the added hp even though there has been some bad accounts with their customer service.

Comptech makes good stuff but personally I think there are better options out there. But everything is very subjective depeding on who you talk with.

I will be getting rid of the AEM intake sometime soon for ITB's so if you dont have an intake by then you can always use the AEM to see if you like it.

Amuse exhaust is off the hook. I will be drooling over it if you get one.
