Default Hard Work Is B.S.

I got let go from my job (Valet at Hooters Casino). I caught my supervisor stealing money from us and was giong to have a meeting with are manager but the day I went in for the meeting I was told that form higher managment that my manager had to let me go. He told me that he tried to fight for me cause I work hard and I have very good customer service (I did come from a 5 dimond resort before Vegas and have been a valet supervisor at the coast casinos) but the thing is the supervisor that I caught stealing money is really good **** buddies with our director. They didnt even give my manager a reason why they are letting me go. But that how it goes I guess. So I need to look for another JOB. I dont know if I really want to still work Valet/BellDesk I have been doing that for about 7 years now (2 here 5 in Hawaii). I really would like to work as a Barback so I can be a Bartender after I put in my time. But if it comes down to it I might go back to Valet. Gots to pay bills and the S is staying stock way too long. Sorry for rambling but I had to vent, thanks for listening ill try to make it out to a meet sooon.

Geez you valeted for 7 years? I've been valeting for a year now on the extra board at Sunset Station and I'm ready to be done

On the bartender and barback note. I know Red Rock Station and a couple others station casinos were looking for barbacks and bartenders.

Sorry to hear. Is Nevada an "at will" employer state? Meaning they can let you go at any time without due process/documentation? I know CA is that way, but not sure about here. Hard to prove wrongful termination for you and might not be worth fighting about.

Maybe you should write a letter to your bosses bosses boss letting know about the little "scam" anyway. Couldn't hurt and you get a little satisfaction.

Good luck with the hunt.
