Homes in Burlington County?
I know this is not related to S2ks, but my wife and I have been looking for months for a house here in Somerset and Middlesex County and the prices are crazy. We both work in Middlesex Cty (Turnpike Exit 9) and may be willing to give up the 20-25 min quick commute to work for a nicer home and longer commute. Plus it would allow me to drive my S2k more each day
. We are looking to spend up to $325k or so and have seen some nice homes on YHD, etc. What I want to know is how are the schools and area? We plan on having kids in a few years (GULP)
and would rather send them to public school, but that would be years down the road. We were looking to try and stay as north as possible like Burlington Twp or so.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thx

Pdog,
My wife and I were in a similar situation. We looked all over Bucks county in PA for a new home in our range and didn't have much luck (I wanted a 2 car garage) I kinda gave up and she suggested looking in Burlington county since she grew up there. We found a new development in Delran that started in the low 200's and jumped on it.
So now after being here for a month I must say I couldn't go back to the crowded area around mercer. My commute is a little longer but the lack of traffic and highway gets me there in the same 30 minutes. So far we have found that we are just as close to all the important stores and really like it down here. Anyway good luck house shopping.

Hey thanks. We looked at a Toll Brothers development in Bethlehem PA, 3000 sf homes on 1/2 acre starting at $320s. I would have signed if my wife was so against the commute. It looks like Burlington Cty has some really nice areas, and we will just need to deal with the commute on the NJ Turnpike. Good luck and thanks again.
Hi guys
Just wanted to let you know that there are many nice homes in Lumberton NJ - burlington county 2 miles from Exit 5 on the NJ turnpike...its rural, lots of sod farms in the area and lots of open spaces. Check it out you won't be disappointed. There are homes for sale as we speak. Good Luck !!

my family and i just moved to moorestown and we love it here. our development is right off of 295 so you can take that all the way up to exit 7 on the turnpike. the area is very nice you should come check it out...good luck finding something!
oh just wanted to mention that my dad works up near mullica hills which is about an hour and fifteen to an hour and a half commute for him each way and he doesn't really mind it too much. the house we have here would have cost us twice as much in north jersey...
PDog,
I would look at the Lumberton, Mt. Laurel areas. They are close to the turnpike. My brother livers in Marlton and commutes to East Brunswick. I love in Gloucester count and have commuted (not every day0 to Edison and Freehold.
You just want to be close to a turnpike exit. Close to 295 is nice, but then you have to get on the TPK, which can add time to the journey.
Good luck.
