Default No front license plate

Hey fellow Nevadans!
Ok, so I happened to have found something on the DMVNV website regarding front license plates. They say that front plates are optional if the vehicle wasn't designed for a front plate, and if the manufacturer didn't provide a mounting bracket to compensate for it. If I were to change my front bumper to an aftermarket part (i.e. Top Secret which I'm planning to get in the future) would that be enough to make it legal to not have a front plate? And to another extent, if I were to put body filler on all 4 holes and paint it to match with the (OEM) bumper, could I get away with saying my car wasn't made to hold a front plate?

You'll be ok with the new bumper (as long as you paint it to match the car).

The filler on the stock holes would work as well.

Too subjective. To trust a cops judgement on whether to write a ticket or not is never a good gamble, IMO

No, it's not legal. The car was equipped with a mounting apparatus from the factory, it must have front plates. Both of my parents work for the DMV in Carson City and I asked them this same question.

OMG, I don't think I've ever seen 2 Reno people posting in the same thread. I got a ticket for no front plate when I lived in Vegas. Then again, I got the ticket at the same time I got a ticket for exhibition of power.

LOL, I've actually seen THREE S2000s in the college parking lot up here AT THE SAME TIME.

Yes there is more to Nevada than Vegas

I don't run a front plate. I think I heard once that Metro only gives out about 300 or so of these tickets per year. You have to really piss off the cop that pulls you over in order for him to start looking around for stuff to give you tickets for--window tint. weird color turn signals, low tire tread, etc.
