Some asshat...
...ran me off the road.
It was around 11 PM on Friday night. I was with a friend who was the driver of a gray 2002 BMW 325i, traveling on Blue Diamond and Jones. We're going about 60 when a truck comes out of, literally, NO WHERE. One second I was observing the road in front of me with nothing behind us and the next thing I know I'm blinded by high beams in the rearview mirror. The truck was tailgating us, obviously anxious to pass, so my friend pulled a bit over to the right to allow the asshat to do so. And he passes...and if that was not enough he slammed on his brakes once he was in front (according to my friend this maneuver is called the "brake pit"?). My friend's reaction was to jerk the car to the left. And he did, sending us off the road, into the dirt, through three poles and a fence. If any of you drive past that area and notice skid marks and property damage (three bent poles and a fence with gray paint), that's us.
Damage is pretty bad. The entire passenger side of the BMW is badly damaged; we're looking at a repair bill around the mid-thousands. There is a long, deep gouge on both doors, the front bumper is torn in several places, turn signal is cracked, and there are countless deep scratches on the entire passenger side of the car. For some reason, the mirror is still intact and the windows are perfectly fine. I will be posting up before and after pictures of the BMW.
Another quick request is recommendations of body shops who will fix it right without ripping us off.
Asshat who ran us off the road was driving a truck, possibly lifted. We believe it is a Toyota Tacoma (that, or a design similar to it). I know chances of finding him/her again are slim, but I just want my fellow members on s2ki.com keep their eyes peeled for a truck driving recklessly in that area (Blue Diamond and Jones). I don't have a clue what my friend and I would do if we find the driver (I believe legal action is out of the question), but it would make us feel a bit better if we know who the culprit is. If you happen to see a gray E46 325i with a destroyed passenger side, Nevada Sunset license plate "458 TXR", give that poor guy a friendly wave.

Should've gotten his license plate number and reported him to the police.
I live in Southern Highlands, and I've seen a lifted Tacoma driving like an ASSHOLE before. It's a white/latino guy in his early 20's and he usually doesn't have a tailgate on his truck. If I see him again (it's been a few months) I'll def let you know.
Sorry to hear about your friends BMW.
