Tracks in the area?
My wife and I just moved here in november. while I don't have my s2000 anymore (see sig) we did buy an IS350 and I would like to play with it a bit.
Any suggestions for tracks in the area? If so, could you let me know when open time is and cost?
Guess I'm gonna have to buy a new helmet too.
jon
ps - I will eventually get rid of my Prius and back into an s2000.

There are two road courses at the speedway and there's a road course in Pahrump about 45 mins from town.
SpeedVentures is holding open track events at both of those venues this year. Here's a link to the schedule: http://speedventures.com/2006_Schedule.asp
There are other groups like PCA or NASA that run events from time to time but I'm partial to SpeedVentures for a variety of reasons.

Welcome to Vegas. Bring out the IS there are some IS300s that like to go play too. When you get the S you'll have 2 fun toys.

i already found it. it's funny, but the new IS site feels like the early s2ki site.
it really is a fun car and it's owners are pretty fanatical. i think adding an s2000 (and getting rid of that butt ugly lethargic prius - Gawd, what was i thinking) would be a pretty fine combo.
i think i'd only put the m3 ahead of the is350 in the sport sedan class, and the straight line performance is almost equal.

well, you guys may not believe this, but yogi inspired me.
i started thinking, why did i buy that butt ugly prius. i was driving by the dealership on sahara and thought, 'maybe they are motivated by year end and will make me a deal i can't refuse. i pulled in the lot and saw a new laguna blue (i always loved the monte carlo blue) and thought this might be fate. then i look at the sticker
'dealer adjustment $3900'
total list >$39k
i found a salesperson and asked them if they were serious and he said 'yeah, ya know this is vegas, and it's the only one on the lot.'
i called a friend who owns a dealership in colorado and he says he has a laguna blue sitting in his showroom that i can have for $32.8. not only that but he'll flat bed it to me free and buy my prius back at dealer invoice (i bought it at sticker).
see ya at the track! now i just gotta find a laguna blue helmet.
