Default 1st time driving school all signed up... help...

Well I am happy to say I enrolled in my first drivers school which will take place in April at NHIS (new hampshire international speedway) My question is, that I want to have the best experience possible and really want to be best prepared for the day so looking for some advice. I will list what i plan on doing for the most part and what my car has and any advice would be GREAT.

My Yoko ES100's are 90% worn so plan on some new tires and going with a set of so2's or so3's any recommendations? Also after i put them on the car do I need to break them in before I hit the track, like put 1K miles on them before I hit the track. Sorry if thats a dumb question.

Brake fluid should I bleed my lines/ car has 36K miles and never did it before? if I should bleed the lines what the best break fluid to add?

I have cross drilled and slotted rotors and "green" pads (think that is what they are called) it was what spugen recommended when i got the rotors... pads have about 15K miles on them should I swap them out, are these pads OK if not any recommendations on other pads to buy?

Car has a AEM CAI and aftermarket custom exhaust I bought on this board by MG racing, stainless etc... any thoughts on this?

The track at NHIS, I am looking for a map or some way I can study the track before I go. I wish there was a play station game or anything out there I could track down to get me a feel for what I will be driving on.

Any driving school videos I could buy or rent on driving techniques, do's and do not's etc...

should I change the plugs the are original and the car sits each winter althought start it every 3 weeks....

Should I change the diff fluid or any other fuids?

What tire pressure should I drive on for the track?

any other info would be greatly appreciated...... thanks so much

Steve

I'd get the new tires, but other than that, making sure you're up to date on regular maintenance probably suffices.

To get the most out of it, make sure you're well rested so you can pay attention in the classes and exercises, as well as when lapping.

S-02's NOT S-03's!!!! I wore through 75% of mine at THAT TRACK!(one day 100 miles track time) Break the tires in for a couple hundred miles. Other than that a lap or 2 will really break them in!

YES change: Diff fluid(mobil 1), tranny fluid OEM or Redline, Brake Fluid(Super Blue?), Pads make sure you have 75% or more. Less than that you might burn through them dependin on how hard you are on them.

Track is setup.........straight.....left, right left, left, straight.........hard right up hill, down hill, LEFT!!!!, up hill over left down hill, dodge left right.........through the S and back out onto the straight hopefully getting near 70+ at the pit all.

Tire pressure should start at 33-34 and check soon as you get off the track not to get over I think 36-38. Don't quote me on that but I think I started with 34 in mine and was fine.

Jim.

1- Get some track tires like Kumho esta 700. New street tires will chunk badly. 2- Yes, Bleed the brakes!! NHIS is VERY hard on brakes. RUSSELL makes some speed bleeders for the S2000 that allow you to bleed the brakes by yourself. I use Wilwood 570 fluid. 3- Change oil, trans fluid and diff fluid. I use Mobil 1 fluids. 4- Change plugs to one step colder for event. Change back to NEW stock plugs after first event only. 30+ years of running with the COM Sports Car Club. Good Luck!!

FYI.........S-02's will hold up just fine for one track day event.(Trust me) No need to invest in special tires unless you plan on doing this often.
