Just topped off at $3.999 per gallon of 91 octane. 93 octane was $4.059.

The local Sunoco went from 4.02 last night to 4.11 when I drove by this morning.

Luckily, around the corner I can get Shell for $3.85

Yikes! Sorry to hear that

I just filled up tonight at $3.85 (for 93) here in Bennington. If I drive more than 100 miles now I top up. Seems like gas goes up every single day lately.

Which brings up an interesting point for me anyway, doesn't everyone run 93 in their S? I went with 92 the other day (highest available) when it was 30 cents a gallon cheaper than every other station in town for similar grade...

Or was this for another vehicle Al? My lovely little Civic still thrives on 87

I get 91 when it's avail at the pump. Due to CA limiting their pump octane to 91 and 92 the car manufacturers only tune to 91 therefore making it safe to run 91.

You can even run 87 if you are really on a budget, but the engine won't be nearly as peppy.

Ain't no way I'm running 87 in the S

I am interested to hear from others as far as performance, longevity, engine health etc as far as 91 and 92 grade vs 93.

The 92 grade fill up was only the second time EVER the S has gotten less than 93.

You will see no performance increase running 93 over 91 except your lighter wallet might help the car move faster!

There was a thread in S2k talk the other day about a guy who ran 87 octane in her for thousands of miles because the cap does not say premium only and he did not realize it needed it.

We pulled into a Sunoco in Lewiston after leaving Dave's house this afternoon. The ONLY fuel they sell is 87. WTF?

I might start doing every other tank of 91 then. At the moment its 15-20 cents less per gallon. Will only get worse in the near future. Car won't go faster but it will go further And right now my only happiness in life depends on having enough gasoline to drive further
