Default 4 questions

1. I noticed now that everytime I get out, the seatbelt just doesnt really want to retract back, so when I close the door, sometimes the clip/lock (or whatever you call it) sticks out and causes a loud unpleasant sound, sometime the door would not close. Is there a quick way to make the retracting mechanism a little more active.

2. Adding Tein Flex or any coilovers. Once installed, the car will be lower approx an in or more. Since I drive the S all year round. Is there a way to keep the coilovers installed and adjust it back to original height. I need clearance for the snow.

3. What exactly does the ETD (Engine Torque Damper) do? is there any functional benefits, or is it just for appearance. I's hard to justify 200-300 for one.

4. same as #3, but for cooling plate with stock intake.

Thanks,
Vinney

I'm going to take a shot at answering your questions.

1. i would have to say no. just make sure that it retracts before getting out. both seatbelts in my car sometimes don't retract all the way.

2. as for coilovers, IMO I had a del Sol with coilovers and every spring/fall i would lower/raise the car. The one thing that was a PITA was when it came time to lower or raise it there was so much road grime in the threads that the sprocket would get stuck and i would spend hours cleaning it before turning the sprocket. I found that using WD40 clean them very well. I would just lower the car on springs.

3.I believe that the ETD does is that when you accelerate the engine moves a bit. a ETD keeps the engine from moving so all of the power goes right to the powertrain. I think of these just like having your motor mounts filled. I also had Motor Mount inserts on my del Sol and you deff felt that they worked. the shifter vibrated more and the car did too. also reminds me of solid Motor Mounts. I don't think our engine move that much to make a difference.

4. I think the cooling plate is more for show them function. Do you have a pic of it? not sure if it's what i'm thinking of.

Hope I helped wth my Opinions and I'm sure some other will have other opinions on what you've asked.

Cooling plate is there to provide airflow directly into the air box opening. It seems to have a ram air effect at higher speeds.

you really should be getting an alignment done each time you change the ride height of the car. I have coilovers on my A4 and I have no desire to change the height on that for the seasons...big pain in the butt. As much as I'd like to throw coilovers on the S, I already scrape a lot at stock height. I am not careful enough to drive a lowered S. I am thinking to just pick up a nice front sway bar to make the car stay flatter in turns and feel more neutral. It looks like even swapping sways will affect alignment too.

1. Dont know what to tell ya on this one . Mine did the same thing .

2. Yes the coilovers can be adjusted on the car . But you will find it is faster to remove them to make major adjustments . When you are ready let me know . I do great pricing on Tein

3. Would not be my first choice of mods .. save the money for a mod you can actually enjoy ..

4.We have found that the Rad cooling plate is a bad idea .

It block airflow over the top of the engine .The airflow helps keep the ignition coils cool. We have see this first hand
