Default AEM V2

Rick had an AEMV2 on order. He ordered it a month ago, our credit card got charged, and we didn't receive it and we were getting the "it's on backorder" "We'll check with the factory, and call you back" run around.

Anyway he cancelled the order.

Maybe you guys can answer a couple of questions for him before he looks around again.

What would be a good company to buy this from? (Unless you have connections now, Scott)?

Is this "mod" worth the money? (I don't know why he wants it, but what do I know? )

What about that "Hydrolock" thing we've seen on some boards? Anything to be concerned about?

Bass you said you had one on your old car, yet not this one? Any reason you want to share?

Thanks all!

Just buy an K&N filter. It has similar result and it is easy to install.

Lainy, I would not recommend the AEM intake. It requires cutting a hole in the wheel well wall. It is also a pain to clean the filter thereafter. It is actually quite a performer w/ 7-10 hp gain. Knowing you and Rick are not the all-for-performance type, I'd recommend the Comptech one instead.

if you guys want one - i would contact Dan aka Turbo_pwr from Metro - this guys is TOP NOTCH when it comes to sales & service

honestly i miss my AEM sometimes - Jeff is 100% correct at normal speeds you can't tell you have it but when you step on the gas it sounds awesome. also it prevents heat soak in the warm weather (i can tell a difference)

as for hydrolock - wouldn't even worry about it as i had my old one for two years and Macgyver had his for three and neither of us ever had a problem

Thanks all, we appreciate the help.

I don't know why Rick wants more HP.....we can't even use all that the "S" has already without getting into trouble.

I guess it's a guy thing

I like my Comptech unit. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
