Alignment Fustrations!
Hah, good old Herb Chambers wants $350 for the alignment. I'll see if I can get them to do it under warranty. They replaced a rear strut (minor rattling noise at start up in cold weather) under warranty. When I got the car back last Saturday, the front alignment is so way off that I have to turn the steering wheel to the 2'o'clock position for the car to go straight. Rear tires are not holding lateral load as if the darn thing has positive camber. I put my car under cover since I got home so I haven't had a chance to look at it.
What I don't understand is how did they mess up the front alignment when they only replaced a rear strut. They told me to bring the car in for them to check, but it would have to be a weekday or I would have to leave the car w/ them again. What a hassle...

Ben, if they replaced a suspension part than them damm better have the alignment right. If it were me the car would be there until its right. After all you have that superior accord as a beater to drive right?

If that rate is true and if I do end up having to pay out of pocket, I just might go to you guys... although I am a little leery about driving that distance w/ my alignment as far off as it is.

If you even look at rear suspension parts on a porsche it will change the front end specs. You always adjust the rear camber and toe then move to the front. everything affects everything when it comes to alignments. They should deffinetly perform a 4 wheel alignment after doing any suspension work, especially under warranty.
