Default All the work drama.

Department had 3 Employees. 2 Guys who started month ago and just quit. That leaves me alone for the 2nd time here being responsible for all the internet leads of 4 dealerships. Only problem I am being paid shit and even trainer who came in was shocked. No wounder turn over rate is so high here.

Should I risk it and talk to the big boss again now that I am the only one left? Clearly I am not having luck getting responses now where before I had 1 to 2 interviews a week. With this job market, I can't find anything at ALL. So I wounder if its worth taking the risk and asking for a raise again or just keep my mouth shut.

Blah, Me tonight>>>

when you have results to show for your effort, that demonstrate your value, talk to your boss, but until then keep your mouth shut.

Results are there... Numbers and percentages are higher then any other previous employee. Had the talk with him when the first waive of employees quit and he pulled me in to the office and said he wants to make sure I stay.

I had a list of things to tell him that I was concerned about, included my pay. He said there is no budget in the department. I continued to push and he said If I am really that unhappy we might have to part. *Forgot to mention nothing was done, not just Salary but my hours were not improved.* Everything I mentioned was ignored.

The next day at the meeting he offered to hire another person to help us with the leads. I said "Boss, I though we didn't have additional budget for this department" He clearly was caught off guard by my comment.

Clearly I am not happy.

Good advice !

If you think you work hard and intellegently performing your job....go for it
otherwise don't ask if you have nothing to show.

Although no one is indispensable, work hard and make it look like u r "indispensable".

It's not like there isn't line of people ready to replace, not an ideal market to be generating idle whining.
He made it clear where you stand.
move on when you can, until then suck it up and become invaluable.
Take risks to learn new things.

It is a "dog eat dog" world out there. Employers know full well that there are plenty of people out there who have no job who will gladly take your job and not fuss about the pay or whatever.

Car dealerships are all struggling and demanding more of their employees. Sure it's tough times, but will the employees ever be rewarded for working like dogs? Probably not...they are rewarded because they have a job.

People in all areas are getting pay cuts, reduced hours, reduced benefits, the whole bit. BUT, if you get your health insurance from your place of employment, you tend to keep your trap shut. Who has 1200/month to insure their family when they are collecting unemployment? Yes there are new programs to help with those costs, but some work for businesses (under 20 people) and those businesses are not subject to some of the new laws/regulations.

with Jerry. Gotta keep your trap shut until you can move on to something better.

health insurance?

Oh boy! that's another story. If you have it, might as well shut your mouth. This is the biggest drag of them all. Our govt. should do something.....I don't know how but they have to do something with the health insurance.

Obama is inviting bunch of Doctors and professional discuss on how to fix the health insurance. The way I look at it, after the invitation...he will do what he wants to do.

Agree w/ Jerry and Lainey. Unless you are following leads better in a way that others can't and the leads are generating sales, suck it up for the time being. Just read an article the unemployment rate has climbed to 8.1%. "If part-time, discouraged workers and others are factored in, the unemployment rate would have been 14.8 percent in February."

My buddy working at one of the largest marketing firms in the country just got a company-wide 10% pay cut.
