Smile Always Somthing.

Hey everyone,

I was putting my car to sleep for the winter and after removing the front license plate and frame, I noticed that when the dealer put the license plates on the new "S" they must have used screws to long or just tightened them too much. Either way...it left two gouges in the bumper. I called the dealership, (Honda Cars of Boston), and told them immediately what I had found. Being Sunday there's no one there that can really help me. I was able to speak to the guy who sold me the "S" and he admitted putting the license plates on. He said we would check with his manager and the service department to see what they could do. So I took some pictures of the damage and sent a little blurb along with the pictures in an e-mail basically asking for a brand new pre painted bumper.

The reason I asked for that instead of just fixing the current bumper is because it's three stage paint and no matter who tries to blend it it will never look the same. My last "S" was hit in the rear and when the rear bumper was repainted I could still tell where it was blended. The average person probably wouldn't be able to tell, but I sure could. Drove me CRAZY!

What do you guys think will or should happen?

Josh

Yeah, sounds like the bumper covers would cover it. But, if you know it's there and it bothers you... you certainly didn't pay that much to buy a brand new damaged car.

If you replace the bumper, it won't have the tab with the VIN#.
That would be a potential flag to someone looking at your car
(to buy it from you) that it might have been in an accident.

I know the Rio Yellow you had is a tough paint to match.
I wouldn't think Blue would be that bad.

Josh will that be your vanity plate Blubyu? Somewhere along the, some of the Vintage folks with Suzuka Blue Ss have used that expression.

Grannyrod is going to get a kick out of it, if you do get that plate!

The color-coded frame bolt covers won't cover the marks made by the license plate screws. Below are some pictures showing the damage. I know it's not much, but it is a brand new car and I didn't pay that much money for a damaged car.

Didn't really think of that...maybe I should have them try and repaint it.

Hey Lainey,

It's not certain yet, but it's looking like either "BLUEBY" or "BLUE BY". I guess I'll see when the plate gets here.

I'd be BS if that were my car. I hope they do the right thing by you. And to me, there's nothing minor about that damage.
