Glenn is dropping more off tonight - I will send another shipment on Monday therefore if you have clothes, toys, or anything at all you wish to send down to our s2ki friend in LA please let me know and i'll pickup the items this weekend and send another shipment down on Monday

Hello, everyone I thought I should introduce myself to you. I am the person Glenn mentioned to you and the person who will receive your packages. I just wanted to express my sincerest gratitude to all of you. Your generosity is remarkable!

I have been very busy, but I promise to keep you updated on exactly where and to whom your items go. I will personally see to it that every item you send goes to a specific individual who is in need of that particular item. I feel that sometimes it is better to ask individuals of specific items they need vs. dropping stuff in bulk at a shelter. I may be only one small person and unable to help thousands of people, but I feel that I am helping the people I can help in a more efficient way.

reminds me of the old addage about the starfish

"A traveller was walking along a beach when he saw a woman scooping up starfish off the sand and tossing them into the waves. Curious, he asked her what she was doing. The woman replied "When the tide goes out it leaves these starfish stranded on the beach. They will dry up and die before the tide comes back in, so I am throwing them back into the sea where they can live."

The traveller then asked her "But this beach is miles long and there are hundreds of stranded starfish, many will die before you reach them - do you really think throwing back a few starfish is really going to make a difference?"

The woman picked up a starfish and looked at it, then she threw it into the waves. "It makes a difference to this one" she said."

I'm glad we could help out. What you are doing for the people displaced by the hurricane is truly a good deed.

My four year old granddaughter noticed the news while she was at my house and asked "what's all that water?" I tried to explain it to her as best I could, and told her some little kids lots their books and things. She came shopping with me to buy a few of thing things we sent.

I hope the things we sent brighten the day of a few kids who have lost so much.

Just be careful driving around and hauling stuffs in that shinny car of yours. There are some really screw up people out there.

 

That is very sweet of you to think of my safety, but I am covered! The shelter I work at is saturated with national guardsmen, pollice officers, sheriff deputies, and the swat team(The SWAT team is bad a$$) and they are all extremely friendly and helpful to me. I have come to know some of them quite well and now I even get a personal escort! HeeHee! Thanks for your concern!

My concern of her safety was based on my limited observation on the news......

Maybe my intel is outdated....nevertheless, I think you are overreacted.

We are doing the easy part here. Donating money and clothes....Niki is hitting the ground and doing the hard work distributing items to the hands of needed people.

To show a little concern for her safety is not that much over the top, right?
