Default Another weight loss thread.

I know I have started these before and failed, so this time I waited a few weeks into the program before posting. My diet and exercise program started the Sunday after Christmas. I'm sad to report that on that day, I weighed in at 192 pounds, about five pounds under my all time heaviest weight, and about 44 pounds more than my weight when I first joined S2Ki.

Well, I'm happy to report that after three full weeks, I am down 12 pounds. At 180, I still have a long way to go. But this time, I feel pretty good about where my head is at. I'm also pleased with the results from exercising.

So how about you? Are trying to shed some weight? What are you doing, and how is it working out for you? Let's share some support here.

my weight loss challenge at work started up again and I weighed in at 174!!!!

But last week I lost a little over 4lbs. My secret, just watching what I eat and eating half of what I order and eating the rest later.

I lost several pounds after joining S2KI and before I joined AARP. A few crept up along the way, and I found a few more after my summer of sitting on my A$$ and not being able to help out in the yard or do much of anything. Less walking due to crap weather sure didn't help either.

Now it's time. I've been out walking three times in the past week and it felt great. Next step, cutting some calories........

To me, working out regularly is absolutely essential. I almost never miss a day. I think I might have skipped *maybe* 5 days in the gym since starting up again last April. Once I stop going to the gym, everything falls apart.

Diet for me is almost secondary. I'm eating far better than I have in the past, but I find I do it mostly to support my work in they gym. For most of the week I eat a pretty regimented diet, but I've never tracked calories or micromanaged it a whole lot. I also refuse to limit myself from foods I like. That doesn't mean I pig out every day, but when I go out, I order whatever looks best to me. The same rule applies for beers. I prefer heavier beers and that's what I still drink. What has changed is that I never have a beer during the week (or weekend for that matter) unless it's a social situation. That was also true in the past, but the big difference was I had social situations happening all the time. Right now after working 10 hour days, then spending another 2 hours in the gym, I'm usually too wiped to go out during the week.

I need to throw the gym into the equation more often. I'm lucky if I get there twice a week and that's really just to do 20 mins. on the elliptical and maybe two or three excercises using weights.

JT you guys have an unfair advantage, you get to eat a lot more calories. Your diet caloric intake is my daily calorie intake, just to maintain weight. If I lower it more, I might just be better off with IV fluids.

I'm a snacker. Less snacks or better choice of snacks and regular walking should do the trick.

I go for low fat snacking MOST times. I need to cut back on that too......then there's my chocolate addiction.

Yeah... I don't really snack anymore. If I don't buy it during my weekly trip to the supermarket, I don't eat it.
