Default Any lazy shifters out there?

I have noticed my self in the S2k loosing second gear frequent enough to question myself.
It does usually happen when im very lax in the car. and its when down or up shifting into 2nd gear. I will feel/think it goes in and when i let the clutch out or goto hit the gas it will pop out into neutral.
Just wondering if any1 else has lazy shifting issues/habits like i do.
And yes when i really think to shift and put it where it should be then it hasnt come out of gear so i know its not a tranny/clutch issue.

Yup. Mine did that. GM Synchromesh FM fixed that and the second gear grind.

Mine does that going from neutral to first from a standing start.

I too think it's just me not putting it into first with enough authority.

When it pops out of gear it really jolts so I try to remember to not
be lax when shifting into 1st.

Mine does that into second too. I think there is a TSB about it. Yes if you put it into 2 with authority it's not a problem but why should second be any different than the other gears??

It happened to me once. I read that making your 1-2 shift at a higher RPM could be help out. I haven't had it happen since I adjusted when I shift.

Over 100k with mine and my tranny has never once popped out of gear. Maybe I have a good one.

Also Honda reformulated their tranny oil last year. It rocks and there was a thread a while back comparing the gm vs new Honda. Most said they preferred the new Honda over the Gm

I crunch second gear all the time when I'm trying to shift quickly... usually I just shift slower and with a little more force to avoid this issue.

Try GM syncromesh with friction modifier. I changed mine last year and have not heard the grind since.

Hmm I might have to try that. Maybe next time someone has a fluids day. It's getting a little cold outside to start doing this stuff in the driveway.
