Anyone into model trains?

My brother in law has a pretty neat HO train set up. Took him years to assemble.

something about a guy in a basement with trains and a hat seems a tad weird to me now maybe a pool table and a pink fridge full of beer is my kind of guy

I think there are kits for buildings, etc, either way a ton of assembly, plus he did the design, painting, lots of detail work, lots of patience needed too.
