Anyone know ant local builders/contractors?
I need to find a reliable contractor... I am looking to build roughly a 20x20 mini house/shed type thing in my back yard... It will be sitting on Tubes (sonnet sp) and I already have all the exterior windows (2) and big double doors (3) needed. Tubes will be poured by the time the person(s) get started by me already...and would start by building the platform and then up from there....Looking for someone to build it, frame it, side it, roof it and thats it.... no plumbing or electrical and not finished inside.....if someone is pressed for time will take someone just to frame it and I can do the rest....
anyone have any thoughts or good recommendations?......

I would hold off on pouring the tubes till you talk to a contractor on proper specs and ensuring you will have all pilars leveled off. I would also think depending on zoning that there has to be a certain depth into the ground and the structure off the ground.
My neighbor here in Wrentham is a licensed MA contractor. He personally built my sun room and installed 21 windows in my house. Great guy and doesn't over charge. He let me help (when he was sure I wouldn't f*%k things up)
He just built his own barn out behind his house to use as a work space for his Shelby Cobra. I'm trying to get him to come to some of our events. He was going to do the Yuppie Racing Brewery trip before it got rained out.
Let me know if you want Brian's phone number.
PS- I agree. Don't do the cement footing work until you get your person to look at things. In addition to the depth reason mentioned, Brian put lag bolts with a spacer box in my footings so it would keep the support beams high and dryand off the cement.

I know what your saying, the tubes with be 12 inch tubes and go well below 4 ft deep below front line, I have had the building inspecter out and granfathered due to an old structure and 4ft wall I kept.... got most of that stuff covered, just need someone to frame this puppy up... thanks for the referals and yes would like his #... thanks
I have a friend that does tons of work in Hopkinton. He works there almost every week. He's a building contractor. He helped us build a pole barn for our S. By building a pole barn you don't have to pay taxes on it, unlike a garage.
I've known Steve for like 20 years or so. I know his whole family and my wife and I are very close friends with them all. So you can trust him.
Would you like me to PM you his contact info?
