I kept the stripe for a few reasons, none of which I'll mention here

So I'll say this. Even after having experience opening taillights, the 2nd one still took an hour. I first gave it 25 minutes at 230 to soften it up good. I think took my flathead screwdriver and removed as much silicone as possible along the top.

Back in the oven at 230 to 10.

I then took my flathead screwdriver and removed as much silicone as possible along the bottom.

Back in the oven at 230 for 10.

I then began to pry from the top, by the time it made some progress the silicone was hardening back up again.

Back in the oven at 230 for 10.

I then pried from the bottom until it seperated. Because the top was already loose I was able to pry it off 100% without going back in the oven again.

Long story short, it takes a long time and your fingers will hurt like HELL when done because you need to push hard with the tips of your fingers. This is very very painful .

Trying to read your mind on it... I can't think of any laws off hand that require the tail like be visible from the side.

I think the stripe looks out of place. what about a vertical stripe? similar your front corners?
