Default AP1 taillight mod complete

I'll use this thread to document my progress through a hopefully successful AP1 taillight modification to my car.

What I will be doing is reducing the overall size of the reflector in the corner of the AP1 taillights. In this picture you will see where a member painted the entire reflector black rendering the bulb underneath useless. I love the overall look but would like to preserve the light underneath.

I am going to preserve the running light beneath by leaving a small rectangular opening underneath. You can see on the passenger side light in this photo how it lights up a rectangular portion. This is what I plan to leave red.

I'm going to take the lights off the car when I get home tonight. Pending good weather they might be done as early as Thursday and I have Friday off from work so that leaves even more time to tinker.

There is none. I stopped in SC and had lunch with Mulder after WTD and talked to him about it slightly but no write-up on this board.

Apparently, it's harder than the headlights to pry the taillights apart.

We'll see how it goes

headlights were simple....probably because I've done it to a few of my previous cars. tail lights lenses are always more fragile and harder to take apart, but i really like how that looks.....

I had been thinking about this for a while to add to my black out look but haven't had the time. If you are successful you feel like helping me do mine at the headlight day? I am just going to black the whole thing out like Mulder did though so the painting will be a bit easier.

That's a BA car!!!!

Dave from the metro crew and I were taking photos on a curve at the dragon when one of those came absolutely hauling past. It was awesome. It was going so fast there almost seemed to be the flames left by the tires on the pavement like on TV
