arrrrgggg
I have never had a problem since I left ATT cable (now comcast). My cable connection was up and down to the point that we could not use it to play any online games. The bandwidth at peak times was horrible. I did a comparison between them and Verizon DSL and even though the DSL connection was slower it was more stable and allowed game play. It did not share as well as cable because if one pc was downloading something it slowed the remaining connections.
Now I have Verizon Fios and it absolutely rocks! No problems and more bandwidth than ever before. I have 15 megs download and 2 meg upload. Now we have absolutely no problems with sharing as the download speed is much faster than most sites can give me.
It must be your location because I have had no problems with Verizon since I went with them 4 years ago.
Oh, just noted that you said it was "operator" error. LOL! you need some network administration classes to get beyond that. hehe

- my issues are contrubuted to a weak dsl signal
i should have it up and running by tomorrow
btw - what's the monthly expense of FIOS?? is it compairable to cable ($45.00 a month?)
- i would have opted for FIOS but it's not here yet

outlook sucks - i use a gmail account so i can get my e-mail from anywhere
they think they tracked it down to a problem on their end....something to do with the authentication server but they're not sure blah, blah, blah.
Outlook runs fine as long as Verizon is working properly which is a crap shoot. It's not operator error if that damn Verizon and their support. My advice is this - if you call in and they attempt to troubleshoot it or they tell you they'll look into it - wait a while and call back and get another rep. Their customer service SUCKS!!!! I'm not talking just level 1 suport here either, I'm talking their escalation team as well - none of them seem to be trained on the same level as one another providing an issue with customer support consistency.
See.....you got me going again!
