Auto body
Thinking about getting the nose and hood resprayed on my s2k. Looks like someone sandblasted the bloody thing. I know it effects resale, but I am planning to run the car for a while, so its not really a concern.
Anyone have anything good to say about a body shop in this part of the world? Live in Mystic (eastern CT), willing to drive a distance if it means getting a good result.
The color makes me cringe a bit... silverstone have heard some real horror stories about matching.
Ive tried touching up the more serious spots, but have only made them look worse. Would be really grumpy if Hamilton wasn't on pole. Third glass of wine helps too.
Cheers

Well, I obviously haven't seen how bad your paint is... But I wouldn't count out what a good polishing job with a Porter Cable can do. Unless your clear coat is totally gone, I would say you have a chance. Your paint may just be very oxidized which is common.
Just re-read your post... is it chips from rocks and such that is the problem or just general haziness?

Rex, wish it was oxidation. I've actually made the situation worse by trying to repair it, poked through the clearcoat in a couple of places.
JS - can you send me their info. Exactly what I am looking for.

And there is always Max (Speedfreak) in Warwick. Joe, you coming out to the Wine drive right? We can do an assessment there. BTW, there is a thread somewhere on S2ki where a person used touchup paint on chips and then wet sanded on then onto the PC for polish and wax. The results looked sick and won't cost you $$$
