I was told by some co-workers that the NH mens state prison, runs a craft shop/furniture shop, and that the furniture they make is really nice and cheap. so i figured I would check it out. They had some really nice stuff in there, too nice for my house though! its mostly more traditional type furniture or shaker style? and most of it is light stained ( zip you like that!)

Actually most of my furniture in my home is maple, its medium to light stained and yes shaker style is where its at I have a thomasville kitchen which is all clear maple not birds eye i paid a fortune for it too ouch
. I dont like knots in my furniture. My bedroom is maple moosehead is the manufacturer there. Livingroom is oak along with all the modings and the hardwood floor in there is oak. The new room is bamboo and Im actualy having a hard time finding the right furniture for that room, Ill know what I want when i see it. I actually kinda fussy when it comes to furnishings, but arent we all.

Up here in maine the state prison also has a showroom and they do have some talented woodworkers in prison.

 

I read they were coming out with a shiv carved line of chairs next month.
