Guys, ya really need to give it some time before making predictions, one brady steped in when bledsoe went down oooh look what he accomplished, 2 its not the tom brady patriots its the new england patriots last i knew it took the whole team to wins games not just one guy" yes we all know brady is good but he is not a whole team alone", Three cassel by all means has never had any game pressure sure he gets a few snaps in preseason blah blah blah remember this is a guy that backed up 2 heisman throphy winners in college at usc and got a whole 33 pass attempts in 4 years so he never got playing time there either. Four yesterday he went 13-18 for 152 yards 72.2% completions and a td, tom terrific before the injury went 7-11 76 yard 63.6% completions and no td. Cassel also had more yards per attempt than tom terrific. So lets just sit back and see how he matures in the real deal. Remember he has never started an nfl regular season game either. The pats havent exactly held onto him for 4 plus years cause they dont see nothing in him. He has talent give him a chance to shine. Hell he won yesterday didnt he.

To be honest cassel had a better first game against the chiefs than brady did against the jets back when he stepped in for bledsoe in the jets game back in 2001.

Now i know you will debate all this but it doesnt matter what matters is time and what cassel will do with it,

But Dave he went 13-18 for 152 yards and a td against arguably one
of the WORST teams in the entire NFL.

I agree time will tell, but, I honestly don't think he'll be able to compete
against the elite teams.

Defense will have to hold teams to 10 or less points a game and control
the clock with an effective running game and I just don't see them doing
that against quality teams.

At least we have the Red Sox to hope for, at least for another few weeks.

I will assume he sustained a partial tear to his ACL, and possibly some strains elsewhere. For an ordinary person, the doctors probably wouldn't opt for surgery, but to ensure proper healing, minimal scar tissue, etc, pro athletes are treated differently. I haven't read anything about it to see if any specifics were released (highly doubtful, this is the Pats), but I can't see such a blow resulting in a full tear. He'll be back, and probably close to 100% after it's all said and done.. so basically, he'll still be the second slowest NFL player behind Manning. I'm not doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express. I experienced a partial tear in two of the three lateral ligaments in my ankle, and while it will never be 100% again, it's damned close and I didn't have the Pats med staff.

Not to bad for an off the bench performance after 8 years of sitting on it eh.

Ay Tampa Bay and Boston tonite should be a good series! I guess MLB knew what it was doing when it made the schedule!

I think he is screwed for the next 12 months at least.

even if he can begin a running regimen in 6 months after surgery, it will be 12 months before he can cut from left to right in the pocket. Also, for the best recovery, he probably wont go under the knife for at least a month after the injuury happened.

I feel bad for him because I know what lies ahead for him and it is painful and depressing.

Jeff, you and Jerry speak from experience on that front so Ill have to agree with that. I know the NFL hates this happening as hated or loved everyone wanted to watch him play.

I know that I am not trying to perform at anywhere near the level that Brady would, I'll guess the same for Jeff although he probably needs to perform at a higher level than I do.
after all a desk and a couch aren't all that demanding

I would love to be able to just go golfing and skiing again, never mind soccer and hoops.

The only good thing about this is that people that couldn't afford to go to
games will be able to now, tickets will be a dime a dozen.
