Oh what the hell....
Go ahead, buy a V8 truck, they are selling for dirt cheap prices in the used sector right now, used dealers are trying to give them away. Then, consider just renting a U-haul trailer, they have several models that would be more than enough to tow the S, plus they can rent ya all the other towing crap you will need, hitch, receiver, ball, brake controller, maybe even a weight distribution hitch which will help you a GREAT deal if you are a newbie to towing.
Once you get to SC, as you said, the truck might come in handy.
BTW- I love my Titan, I would not buy a used 2004 (1st model year) but anything made later than mid '05 should be a good truck, and for sure, you will not be lacking power.
