This topic is so large it would take pages to give you ideas.
Do you want to do touristy stuff, or sit on a private dedck overlooking the water and drink beer. Go on a whale watch with 250 people or walk along a desserted beach with no one else for miles, sail, water ski, shop, bar hop etc.
Just you visiting, you your wife no kids, you your wife, kids etc... it all makes a difference as to where we'd point you.

That being said, Cape Cod is paradise on Earth in the summer, it doesn't get any better and I've lived all over this beautiful country. Now if the winters would just go away.... the S2000 could stay out and play longer :-)

Get a map and look the cape over, Falmouth and Hyannis are the two busy cities ???, lower cape is rural, sandy and less hectic.
Once you have a general idea of what you'd like call my cell and I'll give you specific recommendations if you like.

There's some good driving on Route 6a and few good places to relax. You go to the Cape to do nothing, if that makes sense... BBQ and drinking beer... I grew up on the Cape and if I had to stay somewhere my picks would be, The Seacrest in Falmouth, or the Pleasant Bay Motorlodge in Chatham. Falmouth has nice roads, especially along the water from Woods Hole to East Falmouth. You'll like PBML, quite cool and great driving around. Chatham Bars Inn is down the street which is great, but $$$.

Ptown is fun and is good for shopping. Hyannis is the best if you want night life and more of city atmosphere. Roobar is a great bar/restaurant. Beachcomber is great nite spot too...

rjk,

what's the name of that bar / restruant right on the beach in sandwich (right down by Shaws supermarket - I've lived in Sandwich, hyannisport, and craigville many moons ago when i went to college at 4Cs

oh and i'm pretty sure Craigville beach was ranked in the top ten last year the water is pretty warm

actually i like the cape in the winter - less traffic

steve,
that bar is called Horizons right where the cape cod canal and cape cod bay come together. great spot for the tourists to get fed and watered, with the view to die for

bass.. one guy on metro said the traffic is crazy to have a drive..

rjk.. going with my gf, more of like a romantic getaway, just the two of us.might meetup with friends if they are there at the same time. hmm, i plan to go up on a friday and then just check out the town and do shopping and have a nice dinner. then on sat, i would like to do the whale watching(ptown). never done that before, looks like fun. then sunday rent some scooters and roll around and head home in the afternoon. i hope you can rent scooters. i'll keep your number handy just in case..

mosesbotbol.. yeah i want to relax, got reservations at ocean edge at the end of july. its a nice resort in brewster, i wouldn't be surprised if i didn't even leave it. www.oceanedge.com

Craigsville Beach is lousy! Old Silver Beach has warmer water.
