Car Accident :(
It's been a pretty rough weekend for me.
On a wet, rainy, Friday night I was in a car accident. Storrow drive is a HEAVILY traveled road in Boston, so it's pretty smooth I have discovered, and rain does not help the situation. A girl my age (it was her birthday too, which sucks for her) cut me off pretty bad as the road went to the left. I laid on my horn and moved into the left hand lane, as the road went back to the right. As I adjusted to make up for the left lane change and the right road turn, the rear end stepped out and spun me 270*, across all three lanes, into the guardrail. The girl who cut me off was rear ended after jacking on her brakes, so she did end up stopping and exchanging information.
After speaking with the police and insurance they have said it doesn't look like my fault, which is good, and luckily no one was hurt.
With pretty new 255's in the rear and a thick, stiff front sway bar, my car doesn't step out like that. However, all it takes is the wrong driving conditions, abrupt maneuvers, etc. and anything can happen.
The adjuster has not yet come out to have a look so I do not know if it is totaled, though I don't believe it is, I just know that I will not be driving in the Fall Crawl
I have a bunch of photos, but the majority of the damage is in one area, seen here:

Sorry to hear, Jesse. I've only been on Storrow drive once or twice. NASTY road! I got "surprised" by the S one time in the rain. It's a lousy feeling. I'm glad you weren't hurt and hope the car is repaired quickly.
Storrow is a very tricky road in the rain. I drive it a lot as I live in Fenway, and I'm careful even in dry weather. There are some off camber turns and bumps right when the road turns that will make an AWD car lose traction. I was driving it in the rain a couple of years ago in my Subaru and some older guy lost control in front of me and started fishtailing back and forth over all three lanes. I tried to avoid him but he clipped the side of my car. He agreed with my recitation of the story when I told the cop, but told his insurance something different and I ended up getting 50% blame for the accident. In retrospect I should have fought it, but oh well. Anyway, tough luck, but at least there wasn't more damage.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. The adjuster is coming tomorrow so I'll be sure to update the thread. I spoke with Scott and, assuming I can find a way up there, I can attend the Crawl as his passenger and certified picture taker
Thanks Scott!!
