Fascinating info. Can I get more info about this brake code override? I don't think I've ever heard of this. With my car starting to get long in the tooth, I'd like ot have this info.

I looked into it when I was having my issues. This is what I was told......how much truth in it I am not 100% sure.

Only the dealer can get the code.
Code is good for only 24 hours.(part I don't believe/get)
Code is NOT easy to input and doesn't always work(part I believe)
Code can only be used once and once car is turned off it's done for that day.(believe what you want)

Cheers Chaz.

The Release code for the given vin changes on a daily basis . Once you enter the release code it works for several starts and thats it . Its meant to get you to the dealer in an emergency . It always works if done correctly . I have done it only a few times in all my years repairing these cars . The sequence is tricky though as i have found .
