Default Cleared Headlights

I was wondering how many of you have had your headlights cleared and whether you have kept the original bulbs or have gone to amber bulbs. Is it illegal in MA to have your signal bulb clear?

Just curious since my inspection is due.

Thanks in advance guys!!

I have mine done and have not changed my bulbs. Technicaly, Chapter 90 section 7 has vague language that can refer that ANY time you change the stock configuration of lighting it is illegal. However, I don't believe that either the inspection station, or most officers will be able to distinguish cleared headlights from stock and make it illegal.
Now, if they see any other color besides amber or white in the front of the car, it is imediatly recognised as illegal. AND there are other specific sections under Chapter 90 which make red and blue lights illegal (for obvious reasons). There is one section that comes to mind that makes flashing blue/red lights in the front of the car a $300 fine for the first offense.

To make it short, I don't think white instead of Amber turn signals are a problem.....Have fun doing the clear mod, it was one of the best mods I did!! Only takes 3-4 hours tops..

I recently did mine and I am running into some problems with the bulbs.

I switched out the front bulbs for Amber LEDs and my blinkers started going a million miles an hour! So in an effort to fix it - I am trying to swap out the back for LEDs - but the 1156's that I got for it have the posts in the wrong configuration - so right now I am not sure what I am doing

I would recommend finding your bulbs first

As of right now, my headlights are clear with amber bulbs. I purchased them on www. lightlens.com I think they are the exact stock bulb except that they are amber. They don't make my blinkers go crazy either. I think the stock number is 7114. Not sure though.

I think I will go with the clear bulb then if no one really notices.

Thanks guys

Did you order the Rick's clear difusers? Mine just came in today, they are very clear. I was under the impression they were more translucent than transparent. I think it will definately make them look better than how I had it, without any diffusers, but I think bulb choice will still be as much of a factor as without them. I know some people have found chrome covered "hyper white" and amber bulbs that match nicely. I will have to find these somewhere. I will let you know if I can.

http://www.lightlens.com/coloredbulbs.htm is the actual address. The amber bulbs specification is LB7440AJ. You will find it if you scroll 3/4 down the page. Hope this helps. Check with Honda to see if that is the actual specification for the bulb. I purchased mine awhile ago but can't be sure.
