Close call
On my way back from Foxwoods this afternoon I noticed a dump truck coming the other way on 164 with a giant brown cloud behind it. I slow and head to the side a bit when I see an explosion of headlight material (orange plastic, chrome reflector and wires!) from the Town Car in front of me. Damn! The guy pulls over instantly and as I pass see the remains of his passenger corner lamp shredded.
Construction vehicles suck!

He should have turned and gotten the info on the truck. The driver could have been fined and certainly would have been responsible for damages. My cubbimate had ice fly offher car once and damage another. She wound up with a surcharge on her insurance as a result.I belileve there are strict regulation for covering the crap in the cack of a truck.

The first week I had my car I was pulling onto I-495 and I ended up behind a dump truck that was spewing rocks roughly the size & shape of a AA battery.
There was too much traffic and I couldn't manage to change lanes for almost a minute.
As much as I slowed down to create space between the truck and my car it didn't seem to matter. The rocks just kept coming.
I ended up swerving from side to side within the lane to try to dodge the rocks. Needless to say this being my first week owning the car I was quite impressed with the handling. Well it seemed to work because I got out of it with only a small rock chip on the top of the bumper near the "H"
