speaking of the "relative" thing, there were people down here doing the polar dip recently and that was with 70F weather and water temps in the gulf at 50F. up north the summer water temps are 50F at hampton beach if you're lucky (compared to the gulf hitting high 80s/low 90s for summer water temps...

the other week it was 70/50 hi/lo and since this arctic blast has hit it's been 50/30. when i lived in new england i'd go to high school in just a t-shirt when it was 20F out, damn i was tough back then...
