Default Could use some help! :)

from the Mid-A!

I'm taking the misses to a Boston RedSox game next month, which is her favorite team. She has only been to one other game at Fenway, so it will be special for her. I also opted to plan to propose to her during the game. My dilemna is....

I'm looking for hotels to book for the weekend, we will be arriving saturday (4/24) and checking out monday (4/26)

I found a cheap spot in the Theatre District on Charles St. It looks as though it's located near the Citi Performing Arts Center, as well as the New England Medical Center (A few blocks anyway, says Google Maps) to give you guys a better understanding at what I'm looking at. It's not much, but we will be out all day and night, so it will only be needed for sleeping. She is worried that it might be located in a bad portion of Boston. I'd reassure her it isn't, but I've never been so it's hard to say.

Any help you guys and gals could offer me? I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

No worries... it's an excellent area and close to everything in Boston. Enjoy your stay and good luck!

It's fine. It can get loud some times, but April should not be too bad. Did you check the Sheraton Back Bay, Copley Hotel, Marriott Back Bay, the Collanade hotel and the Lennox? Also, there are some bed and breakfast places in the back bay you could look into that are closer. the hotel you have picked is a good hike from Fenway.

On google maps it is showing the hotel to be less than two miles from Fenway Park. I've looked at a few other hotels closer to Fenway, but I really don't see the point in paying hundreds more for somewhere I don't really plan to be. Although the bed and breakfast thing does intrigue me. Are there any in particular you could refer me to?

take the subway from your hotel to the game - AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT WEAR A YANKEE'S CAP INTO FENWAY PARK

Fenway is on the green line and i think your hotels will be near the red line

Just remember that April in Boston can be cold and that Boston is the windiest city in the country (true) and that the area between your hotel and Fenway is the windiest section of Boston.

Steve has a good point. You can just walk to the green line and take the subway. Try to avoid cabs as it can take them a long time to get to the Park due to game day traffic.

I never stay at B and Bs so I could not give you a name.

If you found a place that is hundreds less you might want to share the name with us. We may know something about it.

The best part about Boston is that it is an awesome walking town. The path from your hotel to Fenway is a very nice walk up Boylston St or Newbury St ($hopping) or Commonwealth Ave (treeline & $$ brownstones). If you don't feel like walking or if the weather is poor, you can take the green line at Boylston or Arlington station to go to Fenway.

Sounds great, thanks for the information guys. Oh and BTW, I'm from Annapolis, not a huge baseball fan, but I know damn well I hate the yankees. Besides, if I wore a NY hat, my girl would definitely say no.
