Jeff, what's the penalty for premature withdrawal on CD?
3 Months interest based on the amount of the withdrawal....you don't have to break the whole CD.

Nope!! J/K...I'll always take money!!

Yup FDIC! BTW.....it is 250,000 per depositor, per asset class.
Individual
Joint
Trotten
Ira

SO if you use all the classes.....one could have 1 mil+ fully insured at the same bank.
PM sent.

That's great Ted....

Please take notice however, that that rate can change at any time......
Also....FDIC insurance is now $250,000 per depositor through Dec. 31, 2009...NOT 100,000.

The bank doesn't know FDIC limits went up?

Also....

Great on the Annuties...those are high rates, I'm suprised they are still that high but then again that may be the yield on the first year and may likely fall to the floor rate after the first year probably 1.5-3.0%, also Fixed Annuities often require time frames of 5-7 years and funds are subject to a 10% penalty if you withdraw any funds and you are not 59.5 years old or older.
True, and good pickup on the FDIC issue. I will have to bring that up with someone!

1st year of the annuity has a 2.5% kicker. Base rate is 4.4% up to 9 years.

I just put my check from my car sale in my acct and they were all over me with a special promotion for new money on a CD. If it wasnt all going to be gone so fast I would have done it.
