Are these lifts any good? I assume they are made in China?

I've never heard of them. There are tons of cheaper lifts being made in china though, so it's a safe bet that's where that one comes from. That might not be a horrible thing though... a friend of mine has a Chinese made 4 post lift he bought locally from here http://www.naautoequipment.com/ and he loves it.

I am sure it will be fine for your needs . Not like you will be lifting 5 cars a day and need it to make a living

I run Rotary But not in the same price range ( $4000 )

Benpack is another popular less expensive lift company

Like everything, I think this should be a meet. Bill and anyone else interested should come down some time and we can visit the lift store near me and see all the garage stuff I can't afford.

The one I linked can fit into a garage with a ceiling less than 10 feet high and does not have a cross bar at the top. I think it would fit better. I have to measure my ceiling height, but most lifts are over 120 inches tall.

Probably different hydraulics or motor or something. The limitation is probably not the frame and arms.
