Default First Drive

I finally took my first drive yesterday since it was bright and sunny. GREAT car!!! Cool with top down, but dressed warmly. I plan on going to Hampton Beach today and driving up and down NH RT1A along the coast. Still waiting for Elda Rollbar and Bilstein PSS-9 shocks. New brakes and Random Tech cat work well. Tomorrow snow, oh well.

Good for you! Wish I was that brave. Rte 1A is a schweeeettt road.

When I cruise the coast, I take 1A north to 1B, then into Portsmouth through Strawberry Bank and over the draw bridge to Kittery Me. Then, up 103 to to The Yorks for more twisties. Try that route, I think you will like it.

Be on the lookout for cops on 1A, particularly on the stretch around hampton and rye. They patrol that stretch like sharks.

i second the vote for rt. 103--nice road!

Grove what tires are you running??? if you have stock S02s be VERY AFRAID in these temps (but i'm sure you know this given your racing backround)

Stock tires. Waiting for Bilstein PSS-9s before putting on 17" Kumhos. This was just a 'get aquainted' drive with some brake bedin time. Cold w/roof down but heater works VERY well. Car back on jackstands. COM has an event in late Nov @ Lime Rock that I skip because of the cold temps. A few cars had 'problems' this past year because of cold tire temps

Hey Grove,

What new brakes you use. Some BBK?

BTW, you are a brave man to drive the S with the top down these days.

Excellent point Thomas

Grove be VERY VERY careful lowering your top in temps under 40 degrees as the plastic rear window has a propensity to break in the cold and it

Car is kept in a heated garage with the top down. I wore a hat and gloves but the excellant heater kept me warm enough. Thanks for the info on the top & tires
