foucs groups
so i get a call last week from national field research asking if i would attend a paid focus group about energy conservation.
They said they would pay $100.00 cash for 45 minutes. So i was a little sceptical but said what the heck. BUT i did ask where they got my name and they said Massave (the company that does the energy audits). so that tells me everyone in the room also got an energy audit
it was actually really cool - so about 10 of us were in a conference room with a one way mirror and we were asked all kinds of questions about energy conservation and the energy audits we've had done and they also asked what type of advertising we liked best about Masssave.
it was cool to talk to others about what they are doing to conserve energy and talk about alternative energy such as solar, wind and geothermal but the consesis is that solar's payback is too long right now
anyway after 45 minutes - they say thanks and hand you $100.00
I did a focus group about 15 years ago, for $75. I owned a Ford Festiva at the time; the parking lot was full of Festivas, Geo Metros, Suburu Justy's, Pontiac Le Mans, etc. The focus group involved moving from station to station and commenting on various dashboard layouts, etc.
