Rick's watching. I had duty yesterday, so need to get things/errands done today.

Won't be heading to tech day. Hope Steve is OK without his PMS pills.

I love the A-10. Did I mention that the pilot sits in a tub of Titanium? That's an attempt to shield him from upward ground fire.

When I went to the Air Force Academy, they basically told us that the estimated lifetime of an A-10 in battle was about 2 minutes. But it'd blow the shit out a whole bunch of tanks in that time with it's unbelievable Gatling gun!

Being a few miles from Barnes Airport, home of the 104th Tactical Fighter Wing, I see them all the time. They also fly really low over SHelburne Falls, just off the Mohawk Trail. They wereabout to be retired in 1990 to be replaced by F-16's in the ground support role but perfored so well in Desert Storm, they have been kept in the inventory.
Video Lousy music so turn sound down after the cannon fires.

their is nothing like the sound of a pair of warthogs ripping over the treetops.
you hear 'em coming long before you get to see them.
I can see how they would scare the hell out of anybody on the ground.

I am surprised by that. I have always heard that the A-10 was incredibly stout. I was watching a show on the miltary channel where A-10 pilots were recounting stories of returning to base with half a wing or no tail fins and the aircraft still making it. They were scheduled for de-comisioning at one point, but were saved after such a good performance in Desert Storm.

It's true, Jeff, they're built incredibly tough. But when they're wailing on tanks, they fly low and slow, and make a pretty major anti-aircraft target.

They're awesome planes. Nothing but respect here.

I was waiting in line to get into the stadium when they flew over. Pretty impressive! However, I have to say that the stealth bomber that flew over the stadium at an earlier game this year was much more impressive visually at least.

I saw warthogs at an airshow in Nashua 2 years ago and they had two of them and they were very impressive up close and in the air. The warthog has a cool sound when they fly over. sort of like twin superchargers. search for warthog air show and you'll find alot of them.
Also at the show were WWII warbirds. P51, P40, p47, corsair.
oh yeah being S2k related there was one in the parking lot and i had my nieghbor with me and i believe I said to her that "someday I'm going to buy one of those". I think she said something about how nice it was.
A year and a half later I have a yellow one. Oh yeah it's my 1 year anniversary.
