Sure you want to save gas, but there's a lot of bad advice on how to do it. Some of it makes no difference, and some of it can wind up costing you.

Seems to me I read something about # 3 lately

I don't care about fuel mileage by buying high test, only about the performance and longevity of my engine

I can't find 91 grade so far and the one place with 92 is more expensive than 93 at most of the other stations in town. I'm going to try alternating and mixing a few tankfuls of 93 and 89.

Erick needs to read #4!

I accelerate VERY slowly (2-3mph every second) and coast whenever I can. I have increased my mileage per tank by over 20% doing this. Also, by carpooling to work I have been able to get 1 month (375 miles) out of a tank of gas in my Dodge neon. I keep my tire pressure betwen 36 and 38 PSI. OEM recommendation is 32.

You should try it too

The S2000 sits at home and comes out to play on the weekends and I'm okay spending the money on gas then.

I don't think that they recommend premium because it will break the car or make it get better mileage. It is so that the ECU can run more timing and squeeze a few more HP out.

Coasting is probably only 1/5 the gas savings. Acceleration is the biggest culprit for low MPGs.
