Gas saving tips?
Just saw ads from Chrysler and Jeep guaranteeing you gas at 2.99/gallon for the next 3 years. No real details, I assume they pay the difference. Wonder how many other car companies will try this kind of thing to sell more vehicles.
The limit is 12,000 miles per year.
assume 25 MPG and your talking about 480 gallons.
so figure max of 960 per year.
so that's maybe 5 grand over the three years.
and as rebates go they pay it out over three years.
oh and that only covers 87 octane gas.

I guess I'm just the trusting type.
I trust that I better read the fine print.
being an eng-a-neer does a pretty good job of turning you into a lawyer when you've read enough specs.
It's all in the semantics and they still screw it up.

Yeah, they only pay the difference above $2.99 a gallon, so I highly doubt it'll ever get to be $5k/vehicle, as you'd have to get 12 MPG or gas would have to go to $5 a gallon. Even at $5 a gallon average over the next 3 yrs, a 20 MPG car would only cost Chrysler $3600. Cash back rebates and other random incentives aren't much different, especially considering that this one takes 3 years to realize.
