i agree but since the bankruptcy laws only protects the large companies - people get screwed (individuals now have to still re-pay the debt if they file bankruptcy)

Just out of college I was getting by doing freelance work. There was one agency I did a lot of work for and it was great, because it was a rather steady income stream. Initially the delay in payment was a problem, but eventually the 30 to 60-day delay was no problem because they owed me for months and months of work.
I nearly died when they closed their doors and declaired Chapter 11. The problem was as I was one of the smaller amounts they owed, everybody else got payments 1st it seemed. I lost severeal, several thousands of dollars on that mess, all those late nights and weekends lost for no return at all.
