Default The Green Mountain Tour Route

Way back in 2004, Josh and Justin and in 2007 Ellen had a great route for driving in the Green Mountains.

We are thinking of heading to VT for a few days in August. Does anyone have that route tucked away in an archive somewhere? I believe we left from Springfield VT route 100 was involved as was route 17 (?). Ben & Jerry's ice cream stop too.

If anyone has the info, can you message me for my email address?

Thanks!

We tour VT on a regular basis, make sure to take the time to drive 17 (Appalachian Gap). The road is fantastic, I've driven it several times in the S and it never disappoints, just a fun road.
After your run, stop at Mad River Distillery (17 & 100) for a sampling of Bourbon and Rum.
Ben and Jerry's is north on 100 on the other side of 89 in Waterbury.
In Waterbury stop for lunch at Prohibition Pig (formerly the Alchemist brewery-now in Stowe). Great beer and fantastic food.

We're taking the S up to Stowe in early June, planning to drive the Gap at least once!!

Thanks! We've driven those roads and make the stops you mention...not the distillery though..that could be interesting. We aren't sure if we will be in the Honda or if this will be the first road trip in the P car.

Yup, Last summer we found the Vermont Distillery trail. We knew about the Cheese and Brewery trails but who knew Vermont was a hotbed for Bourbon!!

I try to go back up and drive those routes again every other year or so. I drive up Rte 7 from MA then cut into the mountains on Rte 17 as mentioned above. My wife and I also found wineries in the vicinity to sample, yum.

Great trip in the fall foliage.

some of our favorites (in the Stowe area)
The alchemist https://alchemistbeer.com/
Lost Nation Lost Nation Brewing | Honest Beer. Served Here. Great outdoor lunch spot
Hill Farmstead Hill Farmstead Brewery - Main Annually voted the best beer in the world....or at least the top 10....

Take time to stop at Boyden Valley Winery. Try the ice wine.....it does not disappoint. Not quite to the level of Inniskillin but it comes damn close.
